Spray tanning isn't done only in the summer as many people might think but it is done all year round. Some people love it so much that they become addicted.

How spray tanning works is very simple, there are several ways for you to get it done. Some people enjoy going to spray tanning salons and have it done there in a spray tanning booth (which is a very convenient and easy way to have it done) and you can do it yourself hand spray tanning, which isn't a great recommendation if you haven't any experience.

A lot of people despite wishing for darker skin would never go for a spray tan all in bad experience. This most likely happens when someone who doesn't know how to use a spray tanning lotion tries it on themselves and end up with orange hands and feet, making them look ridiculously funny but I'm sure they don't think it's so funny.

For people with good experience with spray tanning continuously get it done. It has been increasing in popularity since the 1980s when more and more people have become aware of it and of all the spray tanning products.

It is also considered to be safe as it has been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and that's why people go ahead for it with full confidence and come out with a great tan.

Much better than the past, we no longer have to lie down under the sun for several hours to slightly darken our skin. Now, with all the spray tanning products available, we get to choose how dark we want our skin to be in just about a couple of hours time for it to be done perfectly and evenly, without any sunburns either.

How To Prepare For Spray Tanning?

Ever wondered how long the fake tan will last you? Or how long it'll take before your skin starts getting lighter again? Well, it's supposed to take 3-5 days minimum but there are things you can do to make it last longer than that.

You should know how to prepare before you go for a fake tan, this makes the tan last longer and adds to it's days. They're all really simple and basic steps and shouldn't take much effort at all, for instance, you need to exfoliate and wash yourself to remove all the dead skin from your body. When you think of it scientifically, by removing the layer of dead skin you're allowing the surface of your skin to be fresh with clear pores, also allowing the spray tanning solution to sink into it and not let it go away with the dead skin after a wash. It'll be harder to remove since there isn't any old skin to come off with it.

It'll be also a greater advantage if you remove any deodorants or perfumes or make up you have on you because these are the kind of things that prevent the spray tanning lotion from reaching the surface of your body. Just imagine after taking a shower when you remove the deodorant and makeup you will also be removing a shade from your tan as well causing your skin to look uneven at some parts (the parts where you had your skin blocked).

After getting your sunless tan don't immediately head for the beach unless you're not interested in going for a swim. You need to give it time for it to dry completely or some of it will wear off during your swim. Even if you dried yourself and made sure that the lotion is stuck on you it's still isn't a good idea, it needs at least 4-6 hours before you decide to jump in the water.

If you know how to prepare you should be able to have a tan that will last you 7-10 days at least, some people even longer than that but of course it will eventually begin to fade until your skin is completely back to normal. Who knows maybe you can get so good at doing tans that you might make a career out of it one day. It is defintely a popular business and with a few spray tanning course you can have a new career in no time.

When sunless tanning appeared it came with a promise that we can get that lovely tan yet without the fear of cancer or wrinkles. How times have changed because dermatologists are telling is now that artificial tanning whether it is by UV light, creams or spray are also harmful. Sure maybe not as harmful as the potent sun rays but nevertheless a sunless fake spray on tan could be just as dangerous.

So who do we believe, do we believe doctors that specialize in skin care or do we believe commercial businesses as if they really care about our skin and how wrinkly it can get for having one to many tans? The answer is probably to be careful and not to get too many tans. Especially tans from cheap tanning salons that use very strong UV light that only accelerates our skin and wrinkles.

It's should be more than just about business like everything else. Just the same way that cigarettes come with a warning label and so should tanning products and any kind of tanning service. The labels should read that considerable harm could come to the body including damage to the skin. This should also least put on emphasis on responsibility and businesses could have a safe conscious.
